Study Hub West Coast is celebrating Women’s Empowerment in March. Kicking off with an International Women’s Day morning tea for ladies, we will be hosting a number of events for school girls from Rosebery District and Mountain Heights High Schools.
We are celebrating women’s empowerment with our younger generation now. It’s really exciting to welcome a range of accomplished females to the program – women who inspire!
Women’s empowerment is about promoting women’s sense of self-worth; their ability to determine their own choices, and their right to influence social change for themselves and others. This does not divide gender, it gives women a voice and a choice by empowering them to gain power and take control of their own lives.
Women’s empowerment has five components: women’s sense of self-worth; their right to have and to determine choices; their right to have access to opportunities and resources; their right to have power to control their own lives, both within and outside the home; and their ability to influence the direction of social change to create a more just social and economic order, nationally and internationally.
